The year 2022 proved to be a record year for Metecno Oy: last year, Metecno Oy achieved the highest turnover in its history, cirka 1.8 million euros. In addition, new business contracts signed with well known companies during the year made the year special.

The year was largely dominated by the implementation of a major order, a robotic machining station for Posiva Oy:

“Our project for Posiva has not only been a lot of hard work, but also a lot of rewarding moments of insight. Even though I believed and knew when the project started that we would be able to complete such a demanding project, the quality of the end result is a real pleasure for an engineer,” says Matti Metsähonkala, CEO. “The machining station is almost ready to be installed, but what I think is most important in the last year; we have become even more capable as an organisation and at process level in building sophisticated CNC machines.”

A particular example of this is the introduction of Siemens’ latest innovation, the SINUMERIK ONE control system. In 2022, the digital twin of the MeteCNC® rigid gantry-type machine tool made with the ONE system was the first of its kind in Finland, ever!

In the future, Metecno Oy will be able to offer all new CNC machine projects the possibility for the customer to digitally move and mill the machine before it is built.
