Green Foam Project Reaches Out To a Carbon Neutral Society – VTT Demo Day 16.02.2023

Metecno Oy is involved in supporting the Green Foam project, which develops material and packaging solutions for the packaging, construction and component manufacturing sectors, among others. The project involves development work among SMEs in Pirkanmaa and supports their renewal towards a carbon neutral society.

Supporting life-cycle thinking is one of the megatrends in society and business right now, and for good reason. Plastic emissions are a burden on the environment, society and the manufacturing industry, so many companies are waking up to the problem from the point of view of both recycling and material responsibility.

The main focus of the project

From an economic point of view, it also makes sense to generate new innovations to promote green growth and sustainable use of natural resources; while saving material use, they create new business opportunities for companies. The main focus of the Green Foam project is to use particle and extrusion foaming and to pilot lightweight foamed thermoplastic polymer products.

Green Foam has started in early 2022 and will continue until August this year. “As a special machine manufacturer, Metecno Oy is very interested in different new production solutions regardless of the material being processed, and that is why we were excited to join the project,” says Matti Metsähonkala, CEO.

We were happy to include Metecno in the project, as the involvement of an innovative special purpose machine manufacturer
creates better conditions for the implementation of new solutions.”

Experience the Digital Twin at Engineering Works Trade Fair 2022!

After over a 3 year break, Metecno will return to the trade fair in Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre from 29.11.-1.12.2022. At the fair, we will introduce Finland’s first digital twin made with Siemens SINUMERIK ONE of our latest MeteCNC® machine tool and a real SINUMERIK ONE control panel.

At our stand, we offer a unique opportunity to really experience a digital twin: as our visitor, you can use the digital control panel to move the axis of a full-blooded CNC machine, change tools and even mill a part!

So come and discover the greatness of the digital twin and the opportunities it offers to help machine builders create higher quality special machines for industry. We’ve already outlined the many benefits of digital twin on our blog Digital Twin a New Method at Metecno. It is clear that with the help of the digital twin companies will get much more out of their investment in machinery in the future.

In addition to the digital panel, you can also experience its physical counterpart, the real SINUMERIK ONE control panel. The recently launched SINUMERIK ONE is Siemens’ latest intelligent innovation, which can be used to implement a wide range of ideas from outside mechanical engineering.

At our stand, you will naturally have the opportunity to discuss with our experts what to consider when programming a CNC machine tool, where to start with the mechanical design of a CNC special machine and, of course, how Metecno Oy could concretely help your company to optimise its production.

As the Nordic Welding Expo will take place at the same time, we will also be happy to discuss the possibilities how to make most of our welding innovations, such as the MeteCNC® Laser Welding Machine and Welding Disc Lathe.

See you at the fair at our stand E 511!

Metecno Oy Summer Party 2022

Metecno Oy’s staff celebrated the company’s annual summer day in Hämeenkyrö National Landscape on the last Friday of August. The summer weather favored us throughout the event and there was not a word about projects.

From the staff’s point of view, a paid recreation day is always an enjoyable event and, as in the past, the main benefit of the event was a complete break from work.

After morning coffee, we launched our own, playful Mete Olympics. The events included a wide range of Olympic sports, such as javelin throwing, as well as what might one day count as such, such as the speed trial of a garden tractor attached to a trailer.

In between games, we fortified our bodies with food and refreshments, and the caterer provided a five-star dinner after the contest was over. The Mete gold was once again taken by the production supervisor, pictured here with a stylistic example of a winning javelin throw.

We are now looking forward to upcoming challenges – happy autumn to all!

Metecno Oy Launches Its New Innovations at Engineering Works Trade Fair 2020

We will participate in the Konepaja 2020 fair in Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre 17.-19.3.2020.

The themes of the event are the most advanced machines, the modern machine shop and bold investments. The focus of the product groups at the fair will be on Metecno Oy’s typical areas of strength, such as machine tools, automation and robotics.

At our stand E 511, we will be presenting two fascinating devices. MeteMAN® PCS 5-700 cobot station with Omron collaborative robot and electric manipulator, MeteMAN® NPK 30-1600 are modern solutions for industrial needs.

Register as a visitor and come and see the latest solutions from a special purpose machine manufacturer!!
