Green Foam Project Reaches Out To a Carbon Neutral Society – VTT Demo Day 16.02.2023

Metecno Oy is involved in supporting the Green Foam project, which develops material and packaging solutions for the packaging, construction and component manufacturing sectors, among others. The project involves development work among SMEs in Pirkanmaa and supports their renewal towards a carbon neutral society.
Supporting life-cycle thinking is one of the megatrends in society and business right now, and for good reason. Plastic emissions are a burden on the environment, society and the manufacturing industry, so many companies are waking up to the problem from the point of view of both recycling and material responsibility.
The main focus of the project
From an economic point of view, it also makes sense to generate new innovations to promote green growth and sustainable use of natural resources; while saving material use, they create new business opportunities for companies. The main focus of the Green Foam project is to use particle and extrusion foaming and to pilot lightweight foamed thermoplastic polymer products.
Green Foam has started in early 2022 and will continue until August this year. “As a special machine manufacturer, Metecno Oy is very interested in different new production solutions regardless of the material being processed, and that is why we were excited to join the project,” says Matti Metsähonkala, CEO of Metecno Oy,
“We were happy to include Metecno in the project, as the involvement of an innovative special purpose machine manufacturer creates better conditions for the implementation of new solutions.”
VTT will organise a demo day 16.2.2023
VTT will organise a demo day on Thursday 16.02.2023 from 13.00 to 15.00 within the framework of the project, during which interested parties will have the opportunity to visit VTT’s particle deposition research environment in Tampere.
